The Foster Type 37 Air Spinning Cathead is designed for use only with graduated pressure type air controls. The clutch engaged by air pressure behind a diaphragm. The line pull increases or decreases in proportion to the air pressure applied.
When a quick release valve dumps the air the complete release of the clutch is instant. This is especially desirable and a great safety factor on fast moving shafts.
